LAST RESORT
I wanted to wait before contacting a Louisville bankruptcy attorney. This was going to be the last resort, and I was determined not to every have to go and interview any. I would have my work cut out for me, though. I was to blame for the company being in the shape it is, and I own the business. I had gone out on a limb and purchased a bunch of equipment for one source that had promised that they could use the capacity. I went to the banks, got the loans, and then the company pulled the plug. The person who made the promises to me was let go, and that was before a contract was signed. I should have listened to senior management and to the people in the field. They took one look at the source company and declined to even think about it. Had I listened to them, I would not be in this position, and the company would not be in danger of having to file. I had to get us out of the situation, because I had gotten the company into it. Easier said than done. I almost didn’t know where to start. One positive was that our best sales representative in the United States Virgin Islands had a good lead.
